ForLives develops evidence-supported solutions to sustain and protect forests while improving local livelihoods.

We are uniquely positioned as a research excellence cluster based at the University of British Columbia.

We conduct novel, grounded and interdisciplinary research in cooperation with partners in the global North and South.

We aim to advance an understanding about the contribution of forests to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Agenda 2030 and the Global Forest Goals (GFGs) within the new United Nations Strategic Plan for Forests 2017-2030 (UNSPF) .

We envision a world where local, forest-led sustainable development drives human prosperity in a manner which sustains and protects one of the world’s most important resources – forests – in perpetuity.
